I teach students of all ages and skill levels. I love to delve into Scottish pipe tunes and technique, focusing on session or kitchen style, including variations and creative playing. I also teach beginning/intermediate fiddle, guitar, and whistle. My main area of experience is with Scottish highland and Gaelic music. I focus on teaching my students what they need to learn in order to express themselves and enjoy playing alone and with others. I've been teaching online since March 2020 and have a wonderful group of students. I use a mix of written and aural methods, and after every lesson, I send an email with a detailed practice list and a link to videos I make to play along with. I have a BA in music and years of experience touring with a variety of bands (see my website), as well as writing and arranging music and teaching at camps.
