I have been playing traditional flute and whistle for more than 30 years and began as a fifer more than 50 years ago. I've been an All-Ireland finalist three times on flute, once on fife. I've performed with such notables as the Chieftains and Carlos Nunez.
I've been a teacher to adults and students for nearly 30 years, and am recognized nationally as an authority on antique flutes and as a music instructor.
There is no restriction to the age of a student, as long as there is the desire to learn.
I can teach the gamut of music, from theory and mechanics to performance and variation.
I leave students to best decide how frequently they wish to get together, from weekly to monthly. I even have several professional players who come by just for a "tune up" on technique.
