If you have always wanted to learn how to accompany your favourite folk songs to sing with family and friends, I'm your person!

I’m a folk performer and songwriter with traditional roots and a background in community music. I teach guitar and ukulele. I focus on beginner and intermediate students, and my approach is mostly based on learning different playing techniques to accompany songs, whether that is strumming, basic flatpicking, fingerpicking, or fingerstyle. I can also help you create arrangements with instrumental parts to adorn your songs.

I believe strongly that everyone can make music and that everyone can improve their music skills. In my teaching I strive to create a supportive environment where students can increase their skill level and have fun at the same time. I love the teaching process and I find that I learn as much as my students.

Katherine Forbes is the founder of Nashville based website and brand design company, Designing the Row. Her client roster has grown to include GRAMMY Nominated & Award Winning Artists, New York Times Best Selling Authors, Film Composers, Reality TV Personalities, & many more! She is known for her clean and simple design style and is recognized as a Squarespace Expert and Squarespace Authorized Trainer. She is also the creator of music community, Music Biz Besties, and teaches digital music marketing as an adjunct professor at ETSU.
