In addition to my performing career, I also have a passion for teaching and have taught students of all levels for several years. Currently, I teach Trad cello lessons to undergraduate cellists at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. I'm able to teach in a variety of genres, from Scottish and Irish music to American old-time and Classical, whatever interests the student. I usually teach both tunes and accompaniment, exploring not just the repertoire itself, but also how to arrange it when collaborating with others. I enjoy helping students find their unique voice, and am happy to tailor repertoire to fit the individual. In particular, I have a passion for teaching Classically-trained cellists who would like to step outside of the box and explore other styles of playing; this is a journey that I've been on myself, and it's rewarding to help other cellists find their voices too.
