Danielle is a step dancer, fiddler, and enthochoreologist. She grew up steeped in Irish music and dance, and has family connections to Métis and Quebecois traditions. Danielle specializes in sean-nós/old style dance, dance master traditions, and the relationship between traditional dance and music.
Danielle offers classes on technique, history, and the relationship between dance and music for anyone interested in going deeper with their practice. She also offers intro classes for adults interested in dancing to trad music, and interactive programs for children that focus on song, rhythm, and physical and creative development.
Danielle holds an MA in Ethnochoreology from Munster Technological University and a Diploma in Traditional Irish Music from Univeristy College Cork. She has studied traditions in the north of Ireland, Sliabh Luachra, Connemara, and Roscommon, and has direct ties to three of the last itinerant dancing masters in Ireland, Stevie Comerford, Jeremiah Molyneaux, and Comack O’Keefe.
