Christine draws upon many wells: traditional, classical and contemporary. She is a composer, fiddler/violist, percussive dancer, and a singer-songwriter. Hailing from the highlands of western Connecticut, Christine grew up playing New England folk music and fell in love with Irish traditional music along the way.
As a teacher, Christine believes in a holistic approach to learning music. She teaches Irish traditional fiddle, classical viola and violin (including Suzuki), music composition of all genres and songwriting. Her teaching philosophy is strongly influenced by her experiences in Dalcroze Eurhythmics, Suzuki Pedagogy, free improvisation and traditional music in Ireland. She has taught students ages 3 - 86, as well as students with a range of behavioral, emotional and physical ability.
