I am a Scottish fiddle player with a wealth of teaching experience, suited to match your learning style and pace. I can tailor lessons to suit what want to improve on - technique, tone, rhythm, style, ornamentation or just building up a repertoire of tunes. I generally teach music from Scotland, Ireland and Cape Breton but can adapt to your specifications.

I have been invited to teach at numerous workshops and summer schools, most notably Feisean nan Gaidheal, Ceolas Uibhist, Common Ground on the Hill (Maryland, US) and Glenties Fiddle Weekend. I am also a supply teacher for strings for Argyll and Bute Council.

I am PVG certified and hold a BA (Hons) in Applied Music from University of the Highlands and Islands.

Katherine Forbes is the founder of Nashville based website and brand design company, Designing the Row. Her client roster has grown to include GRAMMY Nominated & Award Winning Artists, New York Times Best Selling Authors, Film Composers, Reality TV Personalities, & many more! She is known for her clean and simple design style and is recognized as a Squarespace Expert and Squarespace Authorized Trainer. She is also the creator of music community, Music Biz Besties, and teaches digital music marketing as an adjunct professor at ETSU.

Her work has been featured on Forbes.com and she’s spoken on panels hosted by YELP, the Music Business Association, Women in Music, and many others.
