Hi! My name is Katie, and I teach traditional Irish fiddle to all ages and levels.
Two focus areas of mine are:
1) Helping classical players learn Irish technique, style, ornamentation, and repertoire. As a former classical violinist, I've spent a good deal of time over the years working though how to "not sound classical", and I've developed a method that has worked wonders on many of my students!
2) Teaching how to play for dancers, more specifically, Irish dancers at feiseanna (competitions). I'm also a former champion Irish dancer and current certified instructor (TCRG), and have played for many dance competitions across the country. I can train you to play at these competitions in your own area as they are held all over the country. Its a lot of fun!
