Fionn Ó hAlmhain
I teach Irish music on Uilleann pipes, flute and whistle as well as singing in Irish and English. It is important to me to help a student develop as a complete musician. To this end, as well as teaching repertoire and technique, I also place emphasis on critical listening and developing an informed musical and fluency.
I offer lessons between 30 minutes and 2 hours or 20 minutes for younger children and am willing to accommodate students who want to study several instruments together. I have 7 years teaching experience teaching music privately as well as with organisations such as Na Píobairí Uilleann (Pipers club), Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann and music generation. I've also taught masterclasses at festivals incl. The Festival Interceltique in Lorient, the Belfast piping Tionól and for international Uilleann piping day from Bray to Prague. I am also an active performer.
