Aidan Scrimgeour
I’m excited about teaching piano, theory, composition and accompaniment. I want to inspire students to explore new styles of music, solidify foundations of technique and most of all, enjoy the process of learning and collaborating musically. Though my background is in jazz, many of my recent musical endeavors have been in traditional music - Celtic, Country, Swing, to name a few. Living in Boston, I studied at New England Conservatory in the Contemporary Improvisation and picked up the piano accordion, which I play in the folk quintet Pumpkin Bread. I composed the music to Only Human, an original musical that premiered in 2014 and have been the featured piano faculty member at the Northeast Jazz & Recording Camp the past few years. Currently, I’m playing with several groups based in Brooklyn and teaching 15-20 private students of all ages who I continue to teach virtually. Please reach out with any questions!
