Boston Artist Relief Funds
For our musician friends in Boston, several funds are available to you! Here are a few that we’ve come across. Let us know if you’ve seen other ones that we should include.
Boston Artist Relief Fund
The Boston Artist Relief Fund will award grants of $500 and $1,000 to individual artists who live in Boston whose creative practices and incomes are being adversely impacted by Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). The Boston Artist Relief Fund will open for applications on Thursday, March 12, 2020, for artists who have lost or anticipate losing income. The Boston Artist Relief Fund will be open on a rolling basis and will replace the Opportunity Fund through June 30, 2020. Any questions about the Artist Relief Fund should be directed to arts@boston.gov.
Eligibility: all artists living in Boston, with priority given to lower income artists and artists who have not been funded through City-led grants during this fiscal year (July 1, 2019–present).
The fund will be open for, but not limited to, the following uses:
Recouping financial losses due to cancelled events, including performances in all performing arts disciplines, readings, and speaking opportunities
Reimbursement for travel expenses related to your artistic discipline that you paid for yourself. This includes, but is not limited to residencies, conferences that have been canceled, and touring
Offsetting loss of income for teaching artists who could not teach during this time because of canceled classes and school closures.
Support for artists working full or part-time in the service industry who have lost supplemental income used to support their artistic practices.

Boston Music Maker COVID-19 Fund
The Boston Music Maker Relief Fund to provide financial relief to Boston-area music makers experiencing lost income as the result of performance cancellations related to COVID-19. Small grants of up to $200 will be paid rapidly on a first-come, first-served basis to affected artists and groups. 100% of all COVID-19 Artist Relief Fund donations go directly to artists. $90k has been raised to date, and over 400 applications have been approved and funded.

Boston Singers Relief Fund
As of March 11, 2020, the Boston Singers' Relief Fund is offering a streamlined application process for grants up to $500. New England-based singers whose classical performances were cancelled due to concerns over COVID-19 are eligible to apply. Deadline for the first round of grants was April 1; though grant amounts, deadlines and eligibility may be altered as circumstances change.
